Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League and face competition from Tottenham and Manchester City for a European spot.
“We want to go on a great run now until the end of the season and try and clinch that fifth place,” Spearing told Liverpool’s official website.
“It was disappointing to go out of Europe but I don’t see why we can’t achieve that fifth place.
“If we play like we did last Sunday at Sunderland and also like we did at home against Manchester United then I don’t see why not.
“The run-in is okay. We’ve got a few difficult games but they will also be difficult for the opposition.
“Everyone needs a bit of luck and we need to concentrate on ourselves, take each game as it comes and not look ahead to what games we have got coming up.”
