Montoya has impressed for Barcelona B in recent months and Valencia are considering making a move, according to Sport.
Valencia are looking to bring in a new defender as Portuguese ace Miguel is expected to leave this summer.
Montoya’s current contract with Barcelona is set to expire in the summer of 2012.
