Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to bring in Van der Wiel to replace Jose Bosingwa, according to the Mirror.
Bosingwa is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea have reportedly already been in contact with Ajax and the player’s representatives regarding a summer move.
