Iniesta ban appealed

He received a yellow card in the first leg of the quarter final of the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk, which Barcelona won 5-1, ruling him out of the second leg.

UEFA ruled that it was a deliberate yellow and thus ruled that he was to be suspended for the first leg of the semi-final with Real Madrid.

But Barcelona said: “FC Barcelona have this evening submitted an appeal to UEFA against the proposed imposition of an additional game suspension for Andres Iniesta following the yellow card he picked up against Shakhtar at the Nou Camp on April 6th.”
