The 23-year-old is ready to leave the Scottish side due to a lack of football.
“The situation with Efrain is not ideal and there may be some transfer activity over the coming months,” explained Berlanga.
“Our concern is his continuing development as a player and we will have to decide where the best club is for him to do that.
“The transfer market lasts until August 31 so we will see what options he has. However, he is very keen to play for Celtic.
“He feels fine physically and has adapted to the country but needs games.”
