The new deal will keep the 23-year-old Newcastle United target at Bordeaux until the summer of 2015.
A club statement read: “FC Girondins de Bordeaux are pleased to announce the contract extension of Cheick Diabate.
“The Mali international has signed for two more seasons. He is now under contract until 2015 with our club.”
