Marseille rules out Gignac exit

Reports on Monday suggested that Marseille were prepared to sell the 25-year-old, who joined the club in a €18million deal last summer.

“Those who can talk nowadays are [chairman] Vincent Labrune, and that was not the case, [coach] Didier Deschamps, and that was not the case, and myself, and that was not the case,” Anigo told Marseille’s website.

“We have never spoken about Gignac leaving. He will stay and he has a season with big goals ahead of him.

“He has all the cards in his hand to prove he is the striker we expected. And no voice in the club has said anything about Gignac leaving.”
