The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Blackpool and becomes the club’s first signing since being relegated from the Premier League.
“It feels good to be back,” the Swede told the club’s official website.
“I moved here for the first time in 1999 to join Manchester United and when I left in 2007 from Plymouth – when I was there with Ollie – my plan and goal was always to come back to England. For me it is the number one footballing country in the world.
“I’m really looking forward to this because I’m not 17 anymore, I’m 29 and this is probably my last chance to make it big and show that the talent that was there is still there.
“I don’t want to let any people down who have believed in me and I’m really grateful for this chance, especially to Ollie.”
