The 30-year-old has completed a move to Ibrox for an undisclosed fee from Italian side Palermo.
“For me, it is a big honour to play for a club such as Rangers with so much history,” he told the club’s official website.
“They are one of the top teams in Europe and they have been playing in the Champions League for many years.
“At this moment, I have only good feelings about this move. I do not know a lot about Rangers and I have only really seen them playing on television.
“This is a different challenge for me but it is a good one. I have changed team and the country I am playing in but I am a fighter and I know everything here is going to be okay for me.
“I am very excited about being here. I am joining a very big club in Rangers and I want to win lots of trophies here.
“I know that is what the people here expect and I do not want to disappoint them. I want to be as successful as the supporters want us to be.”
