The 21-year-old’s contract at Feyenoord is set to expire at the end of next season and he has recently been linked with a move to Twente.
“We will definitely not sell Leroy Fer. We can’t afford to let go of him if we want to meet our sportive objectives. The exit door is closed for him,” Van Geel was quoted as saying by Algemeen Dagblad.
“We have already sold players for a total sum of €8 million. Selling yet another important first team player is simply not an option for us. That’s also what we’ve told Leroy and his representatives.”
