Voetbal International reports that Twente have long been keeping tabs on the Dutch youngster and are hopeful that Feyenoord will accept their bid.
Feyenoord sporting director Martin van Geel stated earlier this summer that the club had no plans to sell the 21-year-old.
“I don’t have the final say in this. The direction will discuss the situation with the supervisory board and they will decide on whether to sell or not. I’m just an advisor on this matter,” said Van Geel.
Fer’s current contract at Twente is set to expire in the summer of 2012.
