Robben has recently been struggling with a number of injuries and played through pain last Saturday.
“Robben will not play against Kaiserslautern,” coach Jupp Heynckes told reporters at a Friday press conference.
Robben will not feature for Holland in the upcoming matches against San Marino and Finland.
“It’s about the player’s health. Now is the ideal time to treat this kind of an inflammation,” Heynckes added.
“Medical support from game to game brings no lasting benefits. He must fully recover from his injury. We hope he will be able to play against Freiburg.”
Club Doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt added: “He must do special exercises for the lower abdominal muscles and lower back. Otherwise he will remain absolutely still.”
