Gago has joined the Italian outfit on a one-year loan deal. Gago was well behind in the pecking order at Real Madrid and was expected to leave the club.
Roma head coach Luis Enrique has long been looking to strengthen his midfield and Gago becomes the club’s third signing on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Roma have also signed Simon Kjaer from Wolfsburg and midfielder Miralem Pjanic from Lyon.
