The 26-year-old’s current contract with the Viola is set to expire at the end of the season and he has recently been linked with the likes of AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
“We have decided to leave the player alone for now so he can focus on Italy’s game against Slovenia,” Mencucci is quoted as saying by La Repubblica.
“But, if there is time then we will speak about the renewal. I am optimistic because Riccardo is intelligent.”
