The 19-year-old’s agent was approached by the Premier League about a summer move in August, but the youngster was not interested in a move to a bigger league.
“That decision made a lot of sense to me,” Laudrup told Ekstra Bladet. “His choice to stay with Ajax was the right one in my opinion.
“When the chance to move abroad comes again, he’ll have to think hard about what he wants and what will be best for his career.
“He’ll have to decide which country fits his style of play best. It’s clear that he will move to one of the four big leagues one day. I’d say that the Spanish league would be the best option for him if he leaves Ajax.”
