But the Brazilian midfielder has denied holding talks with the Italian side over a possible move during the transfer window.
“Roma were not the only side interested in me, there were others too,” Sandro told Radio Mana Sport 24. “The problem was that no offer arrived.
“Nevertheless, I’m happy that a big club like Roma were keen, especially as they play in an important championship.
“I’d certainly like to play in Italy at some point in the future. It would be another forward step in my career.”
He added: “I’m convinced we’ll have a good season at Tottenham. It’s a great club, with great players. I believe we can finish in the top three or four this term.”
