The Gambia international just joined the German side from HJK Helsinki last month, but he will now not be fit to play again until 2012.
Augsburg’s general manager, Andreas Rettig, told the club’s official website: “It is particularly bitter for Dawda.
“He and we had all imagined a different start to his career with Augsburg, but we also know that he is in the best hands in clinic here in Augsburg and we wish him all the best and all the strength he needs in his recovery.”
