Sport reports that Barcelona are looking to bring in a new defender in January and Hummels has impressed the Spanish side’s general manager Andoni Zubizarreta.
The 22-year-old has impressed for both club and country and Barcelona could face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Hummels’ current contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire in the summer of 2014.
