Cleverley was forced off early in the second half of United’s clash with Everton on Saturday. Cleverley had only made his comeback from damaged ankle ligaments in last week’s Carling Cup win at Aldershot Town.
United boss Ferguson has confirmed that Cleverley will miss Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Otelul Galati as well as Saturday’s game against Sunderland.
“Tom won’t play tomorrow,” said the United manager.
“It is not serious. He got a little tweak on Saturday but we have to take the long view.
“We need to make sure he will be available for a long period, rather than play him again and the decision comes back to haunt us, so I think he will miss the Saturday game also.”
