Taylor has been struggling with calf injuries in recent weeks, but is keen to make his first-team return against Derby.
Taylor scored in his return with the Hammers’ reserves in their midweek clash with Ipswich.
“It was nice to get through 70 minutes and to score but more than anything it was nice to be back out on the pitch,” Taylor told the club’s official website.
“It has been frustrating being injured but hopefully I can get a chance and get myself back into the team.
“I respect the manager’s decision and I’ve always been that way. That’s what the manager is paid to do.
“He makes the decisions and he picks the team and that’s his prerogative. All I can do is be ready and hopefully, when I’m called upon, I can keep the shirt.”
