The 25-year-old turned his back on a move to Inter Milan and instead joined QPR in July 2009.
“QPR offered me three years of contract,” Faurlin told The Independent.
“That meant a lot. It meant security for me and my family.
“Inter were only offering one, and it was only ever a possibility.
“Some people would make a quick decision at the mention of a big name. Not me.”
He added: “If you come for the right reasons, if you make a choice and you are certain you are right, you will not regret it tomorrow.
“The way my career has gone has taught me to be calm.”
