He told Manchester United Radio: “We are in front in the tie, so we need a cool approach to the game.
“We’ve got to control the game from the very first minute and show Lille that we want to win. In first half an hour if we smash their hopes of getting a result, I believe we will be able to win the game and move into the last eight.
“We must make them feel that our Threatre of Dreams can be a nightmare for them. We want our fans to get behind the team, while the players must pressure them all over the pitch, not allowing Lille to grow in confidence. If we let them play, and there’s no doubt they can play, then they can hurt our team.”
Carlos added: “They have a very good team. They have three forwards who play with fantastic pace on the counter attack. Keita is a very good player and Peter Odemwingie is also dangerous.
“Lille as a team are skilful, very disciplined, well organised and they have a great fighting attitude. It will not be easy, but I am confident and hope we can reach the quarter finals.”
