Edwards is keen for his side to bounce back against Sunderland on Sunday.
Edwards told the Daily Mirror: “I think in the first half we let the fans down and we let the manager down as well.
“We’ve got to do better and hopefully we can rectify that by getting three points. We need to cut out some of the mistakes which have been costing us like at Chelsea last week. The game had been lost in the first half.”
He added: “We need to be on top of Sunderland. If we win the ball back in good areas and get the crowd behind us then hopefully it will be a good day.
“Like us, Sunderland haven’t had many good results lately.”
