The 28-year-old has been out of action since picking up an ankle injury in the Carling Cup in August.
“I can’t wait to be back. I’m looking forward to the buzz of playing again,” he told the Evening Chronicle.
“It’s great that the lads have been doing so well this season and as a player you just want to be out there and join them.
“The aim is to be back out there as quickly as possible and playing again in front of our great supporters.”
Williamson could make his return to action against Swansea next week.
