The French boss said after losing 1-0 against Manchester United yesterday: “We played a good solid match but just lacked that spark when it mattered; basically we couldn’t score.
“In short they won both matches and deserved to win. They handled the second game well and merited winning.
“We played as equals with them at times during the games and felt we could have got a draw tonight but over the two legs they deserved to win.”
He added on the relationship between him and Ferguson: “It’s all part of the folklore of football. It’s not really that important to me, it’s all rather orchestrated and is no problem to me whatsoever.”
