The 25-year-old’s current contract with Swansea is set to expire at the end of the season.
The Dutchman has been struggling with a niggling hamstring injury this season.
He said: “This is my last year and hopefully another contract will come soon. I would love to stay at Swansea.
“I really like the club, especially the football. But I haven’t spoken to Brendan or the club about a new deal yet.
“I have loved playing in the Premier League, it’s been like a dream. I grabbed my chance and then I got injured.
“There is a long way to go this season and I have to do my best and make sure my feet speak. We’ll have to wait and see.”
