The Switzerland international came close to joining Turkish side Galatasaray during the January transfer window, but the move fell through.
German newspaper Bild reports that Bayern is planning talks with Basel over signing Shaqiri at the end of the season.
Shaqiri’s current contract with Basel is set to expire in the summer of 2014 and the youngster has also been linked with the likes of Zenit, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona.
