Ederson has been at Lyon since 2008, but has fallen out of favour in recent weeks.
“I always said that my priority was to continue at Lyon but things aren’t moving forward,” he said.
“Being on the bench it’s hard to motivate yourself to continue because I’m a competitor.
“I have personal objectives, notably to make my way back into the Brazil team. The 2014 World Cup is in my country and I hope to play in it.”
He added: “We still haven’t reached agreement with Lyon. If I don’t extend, I’ll play elsewhere. A lot of clubs are interested but nothing has been agreed yet.”
