Girard bemoaned the loss of Vitorino Hilton and Benjamin Stambouli during the match, which preceded the winning goal.
“We were down to ten at half-time and down to nine straight after that. That’s where the match was decided. It’s already hard enough to analyse a game where it’s been eleven against eleven.
“I didn’t say much to my players after the game because they put the effort in. It’s not easy finishing with nine. We didn’t start the game the way I would have liked but I think it would have been a different game at eleven against eleven.”
