The Sunday Express reports that the two clubs both want to sign Ba for a bargain £7million.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has publicly revealed that Ba had a £7million escape clause in his contract with the Magpies.
Reports claim there have been talks between Ba and Newcastle over increasing the striker’s wages in exchange for removing the clause.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: “Demba has made it quite clear that he loves it here.
“I think the fans can play a big part in keeping him. If there’s a message I would like to put out, it would be that it would be nice for the fans to show that they want him to stay.”
