Del Piero, who has spent his whole career at Juventus, is leaving the Bianconeri this summer and even at the age of 37 is still wanted by top teams.
“I’ve always been an admirer of his in the past and I have had contact with him”, De Laurentiis told La Repubblica.
“There is always room for him, but I would rather have 19 or 20-year-olds playing.”
