The 26-year-old insists he does not want to leave Boro.
“My contract is up at the end of the season and I’ve said all along I want to stay,” McMahon told the Evening Gazette.
“I want it sorting as quickly as possible regardless of what league we are in next season. Hopefully we can do that, sit down with the club and get something sorted before the end of the season.
“I’ve been here a long, long time and this is the only place I want to play football.
“We have had talks recently, the talks have gone a little bit quiet but hopefully we can sit down soon and get it sorted so I know where I’m going to be playing. But this is the only place I want to play so I hope we can get it sorted.”
