Ferdinand made the gesture in protest at a lack of action that he perceives from the association after his brother Anton was alleged to have been racially abused by John Terry last season.
Terry has since been given a ban by the FA for his actions, for which he has not appealed, although he maintains he did not insult Anton.
Ferguson told MUTV: “I am disappointed. I said [on Friday] that the players would be wearing [the T-shirts] in support of the PFA [Professional Footballers’ Association] and that every player should adhere to it. And he goes and lets us down. We will deal with it, don’t worry.”
“I spoke to the press about it. It is embarrassing for me.”
