Deschamps enjoyed a distinguished playing career at Juventus, whom he subsequently managed after leaving Monaco less than a decade ago.
“It is a friendly, but the result is always important,” said Deschamps.
“When you take on a team like Italy, who are one of the best in the world, there are always special expectations and it requires a particular level of concentration.
“I was happy in Turin, both professionally and personally. I have only positive memories. I’m happy to be back in Italy, even if I had hoped this game would be played in Turin.
“It will be wonderful to meet up with players who I knew and had the pleasure to train.”
