Ling said: “Martin Jol has not offered £2million – if he had, we would have accepted – so there is no substance to the story.
“But I don’t think there is a better defender in the bottom two divisions. He has come on in leaps and bounds this season, and he is a very, very good player.
“We have a lot of young talent, and a nucleus of scouts come to our matches.”
