Redknapp said: “We’re keen on Kranjcar. He belongs to us. He’s a terrific footballer – the type of player I like. He plays for Croatia all the time.
“He’s got great skill and touch, but it takes time adjusting to the pace of the English game. But he’s got it all. He’s got good size and great ability. I think he’ll be a good player.
“I think maybe he just needs to get fitter next year to help him cope with the pace of the game. But that’s not a criticism. It’s all new to him. It’s difficult to get used to. You come here, and as soon as you’re on the ball, you get tackled.
“But there’s still got to be room for someone to put their foot on the ball. I like him.”
