The Merseysider’s have dropped just two points this season from 21 league matches, which is a quite incredible record by any teams’ standards. It now looks inevitable that Jurgen Klopp’s outfit will win the Premier League title. However, they are also looking to finish the season unbeaten, something only one team, Arsenal, has done in the Premier League era.
Can Mourinho’s Spurs spoil that unbeaten record?
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has earned a reputation as a coach who knows how to handle big games. The Portuguese usually attempts to ‘park the bus’ in difficult matches.
Considering the difference in form between these two teams, the former Chelsea boss may well need a few buses against the Reds. It will be interesting to see what Mourinho comes up with to stop Klopp’s side from recording yet another victory.
Injuries will affect both teams
Both teams head into this clash without key players. While Liverpool may have more players missing in the likes of Fabinho, Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri, the Reds have very good alternatives.
However, Spurs head into this game without star striker Harry Kane, who is always the sort of player they look for during big games. The possible absence of big-money summer signing Tanguy Ndombele could also be a major issue for the home side. When you face a team like Liverpool, it’s important to be able to field your best eleven. Tottenham cannot do that.
Liverpool could coast to another victory
Unless Mourinho pulls something special out of his magical bag of tactical tricks, Liverpool could coast to yet another Premier League victory, especially as their star players have had a good rest since their last top-flight game.
Liverpool’s unbeaten top-flight run has to come to an end at some point. However, it seems doubtful that their run will come to an end on Saturday evening.
