Chelsea eye up Serie A trio
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League Chelsea are looking at spending £200million on signing Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic, Inter’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s highly-rated young goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.
The Blues are now free to bring in players after their year-long ban was overturned. Head coach Frank Lampard decided against making any fresh additions in the January transfer window. However, it seems he is ready to splash the clubs cash this summer.
All three targets are regarded as top players in the European game. Martinez and Donnarumma are two of the brightest young players in the world, while Pjanic has a world of experience behind him at the top level of the beautiful game.
The latter looks set to move on this summer, as it seems he is now surplus to requirements in Turin under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri. Reportedly, a fee of around £55million would be enough to sign the Bosnian star.
Chelsea would have major competition to sign both Martinez and Donnarumma this summer. Both have been linked with a string of top clubs.
Donnarumma linked with a move to Everton
Talking about Donnarumma and links with other clubs, reports coming out of his homeland suggest that Everton are interested in signing the 21-year-old this summer. The same reports suggest that the youngster is learning English, but is also the subject of attention from Juventus.
Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti may be looking for a goalkeeper after the erratic displays of England number Jordan Pickford this season. Donnarumma’s agent is Mino Raiola who has a good relationship with the Merseyside club.
