Here are some of the most interesting stories doing the rounds:
Torreira linked with a return to Italy
Italy publication Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Italian giant’s AC Milan are preparing a £35million bid to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira when the next transfer window opens.
The highly-rated Uruguayan midfielder, of course, made a name for himself in Serie A with Sampdoria before a big move to north London in the summer of 2018.
He had a decent debut campaign in the English top-flight, making 34 top-flight appearances, ten of them off the substitutes bench. The 24-year-old has only made 24 Premier League appearances this season.
The tenacious midfielder has seemingly fallen out of favour with Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta. A return to Italy may well prove tempting for the former Sampdoria star.
London rivals monitoring Boateng’s situation
According to the Daily Mail, both Chelsea and Arsenal are monitoring Jerome Boateng’s situation at Bayern Munich. The centre-back’s future in Bavaria is in doubt.
The 31-year-old endured one miserable season in the Premier League with Manchester City back in season 2010/11. He struggled to make an impact in Manchester, failing to play regularly and when he did out of position at full-back.
However, Boateng was just 22 when playing for the Citizens. He has since gone on to achieve great things with club and country. In 2014, the defender helped his country to become world champions, while in 2016 Boateng won German footballer of the year.
Chelsea and Arsenal have both looked suspect in defence at times before the suspension of football. Boateng is certainly a far more accomplished player than the one who flopped at the Etihad Stadium. He would certainly add experience and a winning mentality to both London teams.
Will Jerome Boateng be plying his trade in the Premier League in the near future?
