Former Leicester City star Jonny Evans is ‘closing in’ on a one-year contract with Manchester United.
Evans has spent time with United on their pre-season tour of the US after returning to the club where he started his career, following his release from Leicester.
The 35-year-old is reported to have impressed United manager Erik ten Hag both on and off the football pitch this summer. Evans has featured for United in the matches against Lyon, Wrexham and Borussia Dortmund.
Several defenders have left United already this summer and the Belfast Telegraph reports that Ten Hag is keen for the former academy graduate to sign a one-year contract and return to the club at no transfer cost.
