Stoke have completed the signing of midfielder Wouter Burger from Basel for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old Dutch midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Championship side.
“I have been waiting for a long time to get the deal done and I am so happy to finally be here and begin this new journey,” Burger said to Stoke City’s official club website.
“Stoke were really clear throughout the summer that they wanted to sign me as a priority and have put a lot of effort in to get me here.
“I am excited to play in the Championship and also believe that I will improve my game in this league.
“It is a new project, there is a good energy at the training ground and stadium and a clear goal, which is exciting to be a part of.”
“We see Wouter as a key asset within our squad and believe his acquisition is a great coup for the Club, given his pedigree and the calibre of his career to date,” said Technical Director Ricky Martin.
“He has played over 150 senior games at the age of 22, featuring in high-stakes matches for both Feyenoord and Basel in European competition, most recently playing in the semi-finals of the Conference League. “With his age and profile, we believe he is a player ready to have a positive influence on the team now but also one that will continue to develop during a long and successful career at Stoke City.”
