Sanchez told fulhamfc.com: “I’ve seen Fulham and Papa Bouba Diop play over the years, he has all the attributes to be a top class midfielder. Physically, ability wise, his engine, the strength – many years ago when he came over I thought he would be the next Vieira, he had all those qualities.
“I think Vieira was the best midfielder to play in the Premiership, with Roy Keane, over the last 10 years. I don’t quite know how Bouba’s career has gone here but if he can show what I think he’s got in the middle of the field he’ll be a major asset for Fulham in the future.
“There’s no reason why Bouba can’t get himself up to being one of the best centre midfield players in the Premiership and that’s where I see his long term position.”
