Manchester United have suffered a major injury blow as key player will be out for ‘several weeks’.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro suffered an hamstring injury during United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United earlier this week and was withdrawn at half-time.

Manchester United have now confirmed that the midfielder could miss important Champions League matches against Copenhagen and Galatasary as well as Premier League games against Fulham, Luton, Everton and Newcastle.

An update from the club on Casemiro read: “Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered during our Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday.

“The Brazilian midfielder was withdrawn at half-time due to the issue, and subsequent assessment has revealed a strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks.”
