He said: “Next season I want to push on again. I am happy playing my football at City from where I got into the England team.
“The rehab is going well though it was painful at first. But I am raring to go now and have stepped things up in the last few days.
“I have a programme to keep to in the closed season and another four or five weeks rehab to complete but I will be ready for July when we report back.
“It has been frustrating but I had to take the medical advice and get the problem sorted because I was in real discomfort.
“Hopefully I will be better than ever. This season was up and down for the team but my highlight had to be being capped for England. That was special.”
