The News of the World says Lampard is set to quit Chelsea after contract talks between him and the club have collapsed.
Lampard now looks likely to join either Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus.
The only chance Chelsea have of keeping the former West Ham midfielder is if they make a dramatic last attempt to keep him.
One Stamford Bridge insider warned: “That is highly unlikely. This looks like the end of the road for Frank and Chelsea.”
