It’s been reported in the Italian press that Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini himself telephoned Chivu, without permission, to persuade the Romanian to chose Inter rather than Barca, despite the fact that Roma and Barca were near to agreement and Chivu was still under contract to Roma.
Bearing in mind the recent David Suazo affair (see our other news items), if there’s any truth in these new reports then it’s likely that a disgruntled Roma will report the Nerazzurri to the FIGC and FIFA.
