Roeder told the Evening Chronicle: “Amid all the missed chances against Charlton and the loss of two points, the fact we kept another clean sheet has been forgotten and Nigel Pearson has got to take some of the credit for this.
“He has only been here just over a week but has made a very good impression on everyone at this club and it is a shame his arrival has coincided with the situation we have found ourselves in.
“He has a lot of experience, working with the FA and with Bryan Robson at West Brom, and we are hoping this experience will rub off on us.”
