The Essex club have called a press conference for 14.30 British Summer Time (BST) on Wednesday and it’s expected that Sheringham will be introduced as player-coach, a position that has been vacant since Mick Harford moved to Queens Park Rangers.
The ex-Man Utd and Spurs star was out of contract with West Ham but is keen to continue his playing career and now has an opportunity to develop his coaching skills in the Championship too.
