Lampard told the Sun: “Arjen is a great player and a good lad.
“He will be missed, but if he joins Madrid it’s just something that happens in football.
“He was a big part of the teams which won the title twice, but no one player leaving can be said to damage us enough that we don’t believe we can win another title without him.”
