His free kick resulting in Scotland’s first goal was magical. Now 23, Darren Fletcher has already made 31 appearances for Scotland.
However, being established as a Scotland player, he still struggles to reach Man Utd’s starting line up. And Fletcher has not started a single Premiership game this season.
There should be room for the energetic and talented midfielder in the Man Utd midfield. Ferguson has however spent “big money” on strengthening the midfield before this season and this may push the Scotland golden boy permanently to the bench.
Fletcher needs to play first team football to maintain his position in the Scotland team and is therefore likely to be on his way out of Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
